Our Mission

Picture
The mission of Lassen Family Services is to help end domestic violence, sexual assault, and child and elder abuse in Lassen County.  We are committed to providing victims and survivors with the resources needed for safety, healing and the prevention of further victimization.  We are equally committed to working within our community, promoting and participating in intervention, education, and advocacy to prevent family and sexual violence.  We believe our mission will be accomplished when domestic violence, sexual assault, and child and elder abuse are no longer tolerated in our society, and when the perpetrators of these crimes are held accountable for the crimes they have committed.

About Us

Picture
Lassen Family Services Inc. is a family services agency dedicated to providing options, education and support to children, families, child development professionals and the community.

We are a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, established in 1979.  We continually develop services designed to help victims of violence using innovative strategies to accomplish our mission.  We provide direct services at our business office, administrative office, and at the shelter.  Programs and services are designed to focus on family strengths, and to educate those in need about the causes and effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, youth violence, and child abuse.  We use prevention, intervention, education, assistance, and other modalities.  Most clients are low income men, women, or children; many are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

We provide confidential services to victims at no cost.

Our Client Services Office is available Monday through Friday for walk–in appointments, and is located at 1306 Riverside Drive, Susanville, CA  96130. Crisis services are available to victims 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our toll-free hot line (530/257-5004).
